The research at the Chair of Materials Science (MatSci) at the Otto-Schott-Institute for Materials Research is based on three pillars:
- Biomaterials/Bio-Inspired Materials - Materials for Life Sciences
- Polymer Nanostructures and Thermodynamics - Soft Matter
- Composites
The work focuses on the development of high-performance and functional materials and the understanding of structure-property relationships at the interfaces of these materials.
The methodological and analytical emphasis of the chair are in the fields of microscopy and spectroscopy (OM, SPM, TEM, SEM, XPS etc.).
